Texts and Creative Writing (Master’s program only)
The Master’s in Texts and Creative Writing is a training programme for students who want to become writing professionals in the future. It is aimed primarily at young writers and any students wishing to make their artistic approach more professional through their writing, by exposing them to other writers, publishers and renowned literary professionals, by informing them and by expanding their knowledge and skills. Different theoretical and historical aspects are also emphasized in the courses given at Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). In considering writing and its different manifestations throughout history as an important form of human expression, and the literature of different continents as an art form in its own right within the field of contemporary artistic practice, this Master’s programme takes an open approach to the production, reflection and teaching of writing in a new world in the making. For two years, the project on the basis of which the student is admitted will benefit from regular supervision by other students and teachers through critical and reasoned readings, and from a special system of tutoring provided by writers, publishers and artists. The preferred form of work is the book in all its aspects, without excluding other forms of public expression in dialogue with the visual or performing arts.
